Joules is a 5 year old female mini mule. Her Mom is a donkey and Dad is a mini horse. Joules can be bossy some times to other animals but loves when humans feed her treats, especially apples. Chasing Mort and Adler is one of her favourite pastimes.
Charles is a very sweet boy with a gentle personality. He was the last of the goats to try jumping up on people's backs but once he learned this new skill, he jumps whenever he can. He is very gentle and really enjoys sleeping on people, especially during child's pose. He is Lestrade's twin brother.
Mycroft likes to pretend he is a deer sometimes and often gets the zoomies before bed. He is light on his feet and very graceful. He is very intelligent, loves wrestling and playing King of the Hill with his cousins. He is Duncan's twin brother.
Duncan was initially the shyest of all the boys but is gaining confidence every day. He's a deep thinker who loves snacks, running, sitting in the sun and being around calm humans. He is Mycroft's twin brother.
Lestrade is the smallest member of the team but makes up for it in personality. He is a super patient kind boy who loves being petted and groomed and sometimes lies down on people's yoga mats. He is unique as he is the only one of all the boys to have wattles (or dangles) He is Charles twin brother.
Wiggins is also one of the OG's. He is Sebastian's twin brother and was the first to try jumping on people's backs. He enjoys being brushed and playing King of the Hill with his cousin Mycroft. When he was little he used to take off his brother's diapers when they were living in Sue's house because he and Seb were both bottle babies. His secret dream is to be a housegoat and be the boss of the dogs.
Sebastian is one of the OG's (original goats) and is Wiggin's twin brother. He is a bit mischievious at times, loves afternoon naps and is a super snuggly guy who loves sitting on people's laps. A fun fact about Seb is that he likes to jump over the agility jumps on common and learned this skill in one short session.
Peachy the pot bellied pig is Morris's companion but her real love is Sherlock, our therapy dog! Every day she hopes that Sherlock will spend time with her, but he usually just wants to nip her behind! Peachy can be shy until she gets to know you but loves being petted and eating out of your hand. She is a very gentle girl with a great mohawk.
Morris is a potbellied pig and has been part of the On the Ground team since December 2020.He makes us laugh every day with his funny noises and behaviours. He loves his food (except for brussel sprouts, cabbage and green beans) long afternoon naps and rooting in the yard!
We have seven chickens right now, Orpington and Rhode Island Reds. They are very sweet, love their daily worm snacks and lay eggs year round!
These siblings are a dynamic duo! In addition to helping to keep the rodent population down, their favourite things are going for walks with people to visit the other animals, purring and climbing trees, hay bales and ladders. While they are inquisitive, athletic and love to play they also enjoy tummy rubs and afternoon naps in the sun.
Charli is one of the sweetest girls we know! After a tough start in life that included being an orphan she has learned to trust humans and other animals. She loves being petted and brushed an is always open for some spa treatments. This gentle girl is often the first one to greet us in the field but she also enjoys quiet time on her own.
We have approximately 25 Belted Galloways and 2 shorthorns. Belted Galloways are named for their belt around the middle and are known for their heartiness and sturdy frame. They love winter!
Spook is quite confident and vocal, especially when he wants a treat. He is approximately 5 years old and loves sitting on your lap and being petted or racing around his playpen. He is slowly learning to be a better sharer with his sibling, Spectre. His favorite food is carrots.
Spectre is 4.5 years old and has gained confidence after a rough start in life. He no longer lets Spook steal his food and is a super snuggler. Spectre loves to be petted and once he gets to know you and trust you he will be your friend forever. His favorite foods are strawberries and purple cabbage.
Peanut is a 12 year old palomino quarter horse and loves everyone. He is sweet and gentle and is excellent for beginner riders and loves his humans. Don’t let his small size fool you - he loves to get out and race around with the larger horses.
Missy is a 6 year old quarter horse and always runs up to greet people when they enter the field. She has recently started training as a roping horse.
Ollie is an 8 year old quarter horse and is a gentle giant. Ollies has had extensive training in reining and roping and enjoys getting brushed and scratched.
Otters is a 16 year old quarter horse cross and has a real sweet tooth! If she had her choice, she’d live on apple fritters! She is an “easy keeper” so it is a good thing she loves to get out on the trails to help keep her weight down!
Sandy is 4 years old and is a little shy at first. Jacqueline is her twin sister. Sandy loves to eat almost anything and although she can sometimes be bossy to her sister, she is a good friend to her.
Jacqueline is 4 years old and is very affectionate. Sandy is her twin sister. Jacqueline loves to learn and has been clicker trained to jump over jumps and do several other tricks. She loves alfalfa treats and is very vocal when she is hungry or wanting attention.
Sherlock is a 7 year old border collie. He is a fully certified Level 4 Professional Therapy dog. Sherlock has heterochromia - this means he has one blue eye and one brown eye. He loves to run on the trails, stare at cows and will chase balls for hours but also is quite happy lying on the couch realllllyyyyy close to his people.
Brissel is an 12 year old border terrier who loves little bits of toast in the morning. She has been known to chase a moose from time to time and doesn't put up with sass from anyone. Brissel loves to have her tummy rubbed!
